Doorway

On the short sides of the building, opposite and approximately symmetrical, open the two main entrances of the House, which give direct access to the main floor.
Both the doorways are enriched with sculpted marble in a pattern of leaves and, in the centre, also made from marble, the family’s coat of arms, showing roses and comets.
The double wooden panels of the doors, inserted into them, are enriched with valuable ornate bronzes, in the form of spirals and rosebuds, which frame the words Alexander Torlonia.
The columns, which come from the Torlonia estate in Old Rome, have antique bases, Corinthian capitals and shafts in breccia corallina (a type of clastic stone).
